be a pro 13-15 program
This program, designed for players aged 13-15, runs from July 4 to August 11. Ice times and workouts take place on Monday and Friday evenings, with off-ice field sessions on Tuesday mornings.
The focus is on education over peak performance. While athletes will be challenged physically, the priority is mastering details and building a strong foundation to prepare for a smooth transition into the Elite program.
Our goal is to instill the value of hard work and a love for the process. Training together helps keep athletes engaged, foster a sense of community, and build a strong culture of hard work and enjoyment in the Canmore hockey community. Our Be a Pro 13-15 Program provides players with an unparalleled opportunity to be trained by current professionals.
Our dedicated coaching staff will also focus exclusively on guiding and refining your skills, ensuring no detail is overlooked. This level of personalized attention guarantees that every element of your game is developed, preparing you to reach new heights in your performance.
on-ice development
Our focus is on quality and enjoyment, combining skill development with hockey philosophy and mindset training. On the ice, we’ll build fundamental skills while exploring elite techniques, competition, and professional nuances, emphasizing habits even the best players maintain. Our on ice team share insights on mindset shifts and the tendencies of great players that distinguish good from great athletes. This program helps players work smarter, maximize potential, and tailor their game to unique strengths. By understanding habits specific to the pro level, players can make adjustments that elevate performance. Our goal is to help every player discover what works best for them.
off-ice development
Our 13-15 program is designed to educate players on the fundamentals of hockey training while building strong habits, proper nutrition, and a love for the process. We aim to help athletes see training as an opportunity, not a chore, fostering a positive mindset that will benefit them on and off the ice.
Players will learn proper lifting techniques while developing strength and power through workouts at the Canmore Rec Center Gym on Mondays and Fridays. Speed, mobility, and hockey-specific injury prevention are the focus of Tuesday sessions at Lions Park Field. These sessions are designed to be engaging and fun, incorporating focused games and competitive drills to keep athletes motivated and excited to train.
mindset development
Co-founders Noah and Sam firmly believe that a player’s mindset is their most valuable asset. The hockey journey is full of challenges—whether it’s choosing the right team, handling personal setbacks, dealing with being a healthy scratch, or facing the many uncertainties that come with the game. Our goal is to ensure players are mentally prepared to tackle these obstacles head-on.
We provide practical, actionable strategies that help players focus on what truly matters. Too often, players are consumed by worry—fear of making mistakes, concern over slow progress, or anxiety about whether a coach approves of them. Our approach shifts this mindset, guiding players to focus on the present moment. By fostering gratitude, presence, and a task-oriented mentality instead of a goal-obsessed one, athletes can unlock new levels of success both on and off the ice.
Learning to embrace the present moment allows players to put in the necessary work, find their flow, and play without tension. This mindset not only elevates their performance but also helps them enjoy the process, unlocking their full potential as both hockey players and individuals.
TESTIMONIAL
TESTIMONIAL
“I’ve gained guidance on how to train as a hockey player, become comfortable and confident playing at a faster pace, and improve my overall game. Many people have commented on how much I’ve improved”
What I liked most about the program was seeing how pros practice and train. I loved training with people who, like me, were focused on becoming better. The workouts were great, and I really appreciated the comments to help improve my form. BE A PRO had the best program for my development. I got to skate and learn from professional hockey players all spring and summer, and the price was amazing. I loved the program and can’t wait to do it again.

“Noah and Sam provided top-tier coaching, helping me improve the small details in my game that others didn’t notice”
I joined Be a Pro to develop my game to the junior level. The program helped me take my game to the next level by raising my competitive level and teaching me new skills. Playing with pro guys who gave tips along the way made a huge difference. The on-ice sessions were well-structured and focused on learning and competing every day. Noah and Sam provided top-tier coaching, helping me improve the small details in my game that others didn’t notice. I had a great summer of training and want to thank everyone involved.

This is the biggest thing we wanted to improve upon from last summer. This summer training times are the same all summer. This makes it far easier for athletes to get into a routine and plan work and social schedules around the program. The only difference week to week will be the occasional day off for bank holidays.
-
In the youth program off ice and on ice participation is strongly encouraged. The vast majority of workouts take place directly before ice times making the schedule easy for athletes to participate in both. We will not be offering on-ice only payment options for this program.
-
On-ice training is two times a week, complemented by three gym sessions a week.

The 13-15 program differs from the Elite program in several key ways, tailored to suit younger athletes’ needs and development.
First, the program includes fewer sessions, allowing participants to stay involved in other sports—a crucial element of well-rounded athletic development at this age.
Second, the focus shifts toward education rather than peak performance. While you’ll still be pushed hard on and off the ice, the emphasis will be on mastering the details and building a solid foundation. This approach ensures a smooth transition into the Elite program when the time comes.
Our ultimate goal is to teach athletes the value of hard work while fostering a love for the process. By working hard together in a group setting, athletes not only grow their skills but also develop teamwork and a positive mindset that will benefit them both on and off the ice.
